Guests can unlock the secrets of the rainforest with the options below, available for group travel.

Skyrail Interpretive Ranger

To enhance your experience and unlock the secrets of the Wet Tropics World Heritage-listed rainforest, we offer personalised guided tours with dedicated Skyrail Rangers. Available for groups, we offer you the Skyrail Interpretive Ranger Option (IRO).

Upon arrival, your group will be welcomed by a knowledgeable Skyrail Ranger, who will accompany them throughout their entire one-way journey.

(We recommend a ratio of one ranger for every 20 participants).

Disembark at Red Peak Station and traverse a universally accessible boardwalk set amidst the forest floor. Here, you can learn about the unique flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest in the Rainforest Discovery Zone. At Barron Falls Station, we’ll introduce you to the area’s incredible history and culture, and you’ll overlook the Barron Gorge and Barron Falls / DinDin. Enjoy the spectacular views from The Edge Lookout and visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre to learn more about this unique and fragile ecosystem.

The Skyrail Rangers will share their engaging stories, enriching the experience with their knowledge and passion of this ancient environment. Available to answer all of your questions and provide a deeper, more hands-on rainforest experience.

Sustainability Seminar

In our Sustainability Seminar, groups will gain a deeper understanding of what sustainable tourism is and how we operate our business while maintaining the
natural environment as a certified ecotourism operator.

Skyrail is proud to be a pioneer in ecotourism and a leading example globally within the tourism industry. Consistently inspiring customers, the local community, and the industry itself through its dedication to protect and preserve the rainforest, through contributions to research and education and its implementation of state-of-the-art operations.

This seminar will introduce you to the incredible efforts of Skyrail’s operational methods, which have earned it several Qantas Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism. Demonstrating its global leadership and commitment to the highest standards of environmental responsibility, management and sustainable practices.

During the seminar, a Skyrail Ranger or Senior Manager will discuss Skyrail’s sustainability vision and the continuous improvements made since the start of operations.

The seminar is 40 minutes, with ample opportunity for questions from participants. The Skyrail Sustainability Seminar is held at the Smithfield Terminal (up to 25 participants) or can be conducted at a location of your convenience.
