Chinese New Year at Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

A targeted program of engagement with Chinese guests during Chinese New Year has resulted in a significant upsurge for Skyrail Rainforest Cableway on China’s Ctrip social media platform.

Over an eight-day period, Skyrail’s Chinese speaking staff facilitated a program of boardwalk tours at the Red Peak Rainforest Station which provided guests with an informative insight into the unique rainforest environment.

As a result of the campaign, Skyrail received 99 five-star reviews on Ctrip over the 8 day period. This represented a 550% increase in review activity and took Skyrail’s total score to 4.9 – the highest score of all Cairns’ attractions.

Skyrail’s General Manager, Richard Berman-Hardman, said the boardwalk tours had a very positive impact on guest’s perception of and engagement with the Skyrail experience.

“The ability to connect with our ancient rainforest really resonated with guests and this was reflected in the very positive feedback we received,” he said.

Ctrip is a Chinese provider of travel services including accommodation reservation, transportation ticketing, packaged tours and corporate travel management. Established in 1999 it is not China’s largest online travel agency, offering users a comprehensive platform to explore multiple businesses, social images and experinces worldwide.
